Dental Hygiene 50th postponed until next year

The School of Dental Hygiene has postponed its 50th anniversary celebration, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, until early next year, due to the massive Hurricane Katrina relief efforts that are taking place in the city of Houston, in which the Dental Branch is extremely involved.

The School of Dental Hygiene and its alumni have been a part of this year’s events honoring the UTDB Centennial and will continue to be. If you have questions about the postponed event, contact: Harold.A.Henson@uth.tmc.edu, (713) 500-4395.

NASA Symposium: Please see Web site

With the problems and progress that recently came with space shuttle Discovery’s mission in July, there has been much talk about the future of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). But to understand NASA’s future, you must understand its past, which the UT Dental Branch has helped to shape.

Learn just how much the UTDB has contributed to the health of NASA’s astronauts over the years at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, DB Room 207, during From Skylab to Station … and on to Mars.

Event coordinators want to acknowledge everyone who has been instrumental in the space program at the Dental Branch. But they need your help. Please visit http://www.db.uth.tmc.edu/ and check out the upcoming events box. Click on Pioneers in Space Dentistry and People in the Space Program. If there are any names or important information omitted, contact: Pauline.J.Duke@uth.tmc.edu, (713) 500-4186.
