The UT Dental Branch has been ranked sixth out of 56 dental
schools nation-wide by the American Dental Association due
to scores on the 2005 National Dental Board Exam Part I. Congratulations
to our outstanding students and the faculty and staff who
support their education.
The Dental Branch, in conjunction with the Greater Houston
Dental Society, has just received a grant from the American
Dental Association Foundation for $73,827 to maintain the
Mobile Dental Van with instruments, equipment and supplies
for providing urgent dental treatment to displaced hurricane
victims who evacuated to the Houston area.
“Among our many accomplishments in 2005, helping hundreds
of our neighbors in this natural disaster was perhaps our
greatest,” said Catherine M. Flaitz, D.D.S., dean. “We
are here to serve and we appreciate the ADA for rewarding
our commitment to the community.”
Much appreciation is expressed to faculty, staff and students
who participated in these efforts last fall.
