Yahuan Lou, Ph.D., associate professor of Diagnostic Sciences,
has been appointed recently to the national board exam Test
Construction Committee. His mentee, Julie Robertson, a joint
Dental Branch and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences doctoral
student, just received a highly competitive traveling award
for Keystone Symposium. Congratulations to Dr. Lou and Ms.
Robertson!
The Dental Branch chapter of the American Student Dental
Association will apply sealants and prophies on children,
9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Jan.
21, at the Boys and Girls Club, Spring Branch Unit,
8575 Pitner. Students also will help in other games and crafts
for the kids. Students: if you would like to participate,
please ask your ASDA representative for more information.
The Association of Women Faculty will host an open lunch
meeting noon, Thursday, Jan.
12, Medical School Building, Room G-100, for strategic
planning of the organization’s future. All women faculty
in the health science center are invited. The possible modification
of the organization’s identity, mission and traditions,
etc. will be discussed.

The 15th Annual Minority Faculty Association Banquet will

will be awarded and an award will go to an individual who
has contributed to furthering the causes of under-represented
