Brian Schnupp, photographer and graphic designer
for the UT Dental Branch, won first place in the Texas
Medical Center (TMC) Photography Contest in the Building
Over Time category for his entry “Blended Photo
of the UT Dental Branch.” Schnupp competed against
other professional and amateur photographers around
the TMC.
“I entered several photos but I am pleased this
one won because it tells an interesting story about
the Dental Branch. In the 50 years since this building
was constructed it has remained unchanged on the outside.
While at the same time so much has happened on the inside
to advance dentistry.”
The winning photographs will be displayed over the
summer in at least four installations around Houston. |

Kenneth Abramovitch, D.D.S., associate professor of Diagnostic
Sciences, sends a kudo to UT Guard Reginald Rainey for his
efforts to support the community.
During this year’s Memorial Day weekend, the Boy Scouts
Bay Area Council Troop 483 retired two federal and two state
flags at a retirement ceremony at Quintana Beach Park in
Brazoria County. The flags were individually unfolded,
retired into a fire pit and saluted as part of the official
flag retirement ceremony.
“Officer Rainey went out of his way to procure these
flags, which are no longer serviceable, from the health science
center and ensure that we had them by the Memorial Day weekend.
We appreciate his efforts,” said Abramovitch, who is
assistant scoutmaster of the troop.
