The American Board of Orthodontics
has selected W. Bonham Magness, D.D.S., to receive
the prestigious Dale B. Wade Award of Excellence at
the 2007 American Association of Orthodontists meeting
in Seattle, Washington.
Magness
is a 1960 graduate of the Dental Branch, where he
has taught in the department of Orthodontics for
forty-six years. He now serves as a part-time faculty
member teaching two days each month. He also
maintains a private practice with his son, Marc, in
the Memorial area of Houston.
“I have been honored by the university and this
ranks right up there with it,” he said. “However,
as far as national awards, this is the highest I can
achieve. I feel extremely honored.”
The
Dale B. Wade Award of Excellence is bestowed by the
board in memory of the late Dr. Dale B. Wade, American
Board of Orthodontics past president, expert clinician,
teacher and former chairman of the Ohio State University
department of Orthodontics. The award honors
an exemplary senior clinician who demonstrates exceptional
dedication to orthodontics through clinical excellence
and/or devoted teaching in Wade’s image. |

and Leslie Roeder, D.D.S., associate dean for Academic Affairs
at the Dental Branch.
