The Dental Branch department of Periodontics recently received
one of two Dr. Charles W. Finley Visiting Scholar Education
grants awarded by The American Academy of Periodontology
Foundation.
The Finley grants were established in 1999 to honor the
memory of Finley, a foundation past president. These grants
are awarded to accredited U.S. periodontal programs to offset
honoraria, travel, promotion, and seminars by speakers in
Periodontology.
Finley recognized the importance of continuing education
for the periodontist and the dental office team and one of
the requirements of Finley grant presentations is that they
be of interest to all dental professionals.
The department of Periodontics is planning a symposium of
interest to departments in the Dental Branch and local dental
community to take place in the fall of 2006 or spring of
2007. More information will follow.
There’s always that one employee who outshines the
rest. He or she is an example for others and positively influences
the productivity of the entire department.
Nominate your star employee for the new “Star Performer” award.
