The 14th Annual University
of Texas Health Science Center Golf Classic is in full
swing with tournament participation reaching an all-time
high. This year’s tournament
will take place again at Timber Creek Golf Club, Monday,
Sept. 25. With one month to go, more
than 90 are registered and many more have made donations
to scholarships.
The Dental Branch always
makes a nice showing at this event and raises record
dollars for our students. Let’s
keep it up!
Participating players receive commemorative gifts for
their participation. This tournament is one of the most
important tools in raising scholarship money for health
science center students, so sign up today and play for
the minds of tomorrow.

Once again, the UT Dental Branch is showing its
support for the American Heart Association, which
has funded more than $12 million in research at the
UT Health Science Center at Houston over the past
four years. The walk will be 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov.
4, at Sam Houston Park.

Classified staff, supervisors,
chairs, and deans are invited to the next case round
that will answer the question “Where
Do I Go From Up – Building a Total Rewards Approach,” sponsored
by the University Classified Staff Council, noon,
Wednesday, Aug. 30, University Center Tower,
Room 1505C.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Mary Maher will discuss how staff can be rewarded – especially
when salaries are capped, or when there is little money

Thanks to the efforts of
the department of Diagnostic Sciences, the Dental Branch
now has a FedEx drop box in the building. Its is located
across from the library and will save everyone $3 per
pickup. The box will
be checked each day.
Winning photos of the Texas
Medical Center (TMC) Photography contest, including “Blended
Photo of the UT Dental Branch” by Brian Schnupp,
continue to be shown around the TMC. The exhibit will
on the Art Wall at the UT Medical School, Ground Floor,
until Wednesday, Aug. 30. |
