You can help support the Texas Association of
Women Dentists (TAWD) at their eighth annual auction on Thursday,
March 15. The silent auction begins at noon
and the live auction begins at 5 p.m.
But for the auction to be a success the TAWD
needs your help. Faculty and staff are asked to donate auction
items by Friday, March 2.
This auction is an annual fundraiser that has
allowed TAWD members to participate in several activities
that contribute to the enhancement of the dental profession,
the social and professional awareness of TAWD members, and
service to the community. These events include participation
in breast cancer awareness, clothing drives and holiday efforts
for the less-fortunate.
In addition, TAWD donates part of the proceeds
back to the Dental Branch to help improve clinical and pre-clinical
labs.
Some popular items donated in the past have
been: event tickets, gift certificates, home-cooked meals,
crown wax-up, your parking spot for a day and much more. And
if life is just too busy, monetary donations will be accepted
and TAWD will purchase items on your behalf to be bid on.
