Mark your calendars for The University of Texas System-wide
Outreach Day, Saturday, April 21. It’s
your time to “Inspire by Example.” All UT System
institutions will participate in a volunteer initiative called
"United To Serve," during National Volunteer Week.
The UT Health Science Center United To Serve steering committee,
spearheaded by students, invites other students, as well as
faculty and staff, to volunteer two hours of time that day
at one of the area hospitals, or at other events in and around
the Texas Medical Center. The event will kick-off with a free
breakfast for volunteers, where they can pick up a United
To Serve T-shirt, meet other volunteers and enjoy some music.
Saturday, April 21
Breakfast: 9 a.m. at the Dental Branch
Volunteer: 10 a.m.-noon

Senior Awards Banquet
The DDS Class of 2007 Senior Awards Banquet will be Wednesday,
April 25, at the Edwin Hornberger Conference Center,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening will consist
of dinner, an awards presentation by the faculty, and a video/slideshow
by the Class of 2007. Business and semi-formal attire. To
purchase a ticket contact Tricia Norris at patricia.d.norris@uth.tmc.edu.
The cost of a ticket is $40/person which includes a seated
dinner, a cash bar and parking. RSVP to Tricia by Friday,
April 13. Please indicate if you desire a vegetarian
entree.
Food drive coordinators needed
The UT Health Science Center at Houston participates in the
Houston Food Bank Food Drive each year. Food Drive coordinators
are needed. If you are interested in serving as a food drive

New date for Psychic Detectives airing
The airing of the Court TV series Psychic Detectives, featuring
Veronique Delattre, D.D.S., associate professor of Restorative
Dentistry and Biomaterials, will air at a later date than
previously scheduled. The first show in the series will air
beginning in June. As the date approaches specific details
will be given. |
