Effective May 31, Nina Infante, associate professor of Dental Hygiene, will step down as director of the School of Dental Hygiene. Infante will continue to work with the school as clinic coordinator and facilitator.

Jayne McWherter, associate professor of Dental Hygiene, will serve as interim director until a permanent director is named.

Infante has directed the School of Dental Hygiene for 15 years. During that time she was instrumental in several levels of success and progress, including the introduction of online dental hygiene courses and the establishment of a bachelor’s degree program for dental hygiene students.

McWherter, who is currently serving as clinic facilitator and coordinator has served on the school faculty for 20 years and is a graduate of the UT Dental Branch at Houston.
