The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time faculty position as the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CT&L). The CT&L offers resources and programs that support and advance faculty members through the continuum of their careers as teachers, scholars, service providers and leaders. Recognizing that each faculty member requires competence in several areas, the CT&L provides faculty members with opportunities to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills in the areas of teaching, assessment, use of technology in teaching, educational research and leadership. The CT&L also encourages and facilitates intra- and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty members and supports mentoring to prepare succeeding generations of teachers, scholars, service providers, and leaders.

Requirements for the position include a Master’s degree (or higher), or equivalent, in education with a strong working knowledge of current teaching and assessment methodologies and the use of technology in education. The candidate will interface with leaders across the School of Dentistry departments and administrative groups to identify faculty development needs, and with School of Dentistry faculty members and UTHealth schools to establish collaborative opportunities to meet those needs.
