Fifteen newly appointed faculty members of The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston successfully completed a seven-week orientation program introducing them to the school. The group met weekly for presentations by a variety of UTSD faculty and staff members, covering everything from teaching in the clinics, research opportunities, continuing education, using the library and instructional media services, to mentoring, conflicts of interest, maintaining CVs, etc.
Led by Interim Associate Dean for Professional Development and Faculty Affairs Ray Koeppen, DDS, MBA, the orientation was designed to help the new faculty members work successfully at the School of Dentistry and the health science center. New faculty participants by department included:
