Third-year dental student Martha Orozco of The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston has been elected to the Hispanic Dental Association’s Board of Trustees for 2013. She will be the liaison between the HDA and its Hispanic Student Dental Association chapters, which are the future of HDA.
Additionally, Orozco will participate in regularly scheduled Board of Trustee conference calls, attend the HDA Strategic Planning Meeting in Boston, and assist with the HDA Annual Session in September.
UTSD Hispanic Student Dental Association Faculty Advisors Margo Y. Melchor, RDH, MEd, and Graciela Hernandez, DDS, MSD, commended Orozco for the appointment and noted that she is the fifth UTSD student to serve on the HDA Board of Trustees.
Melchor, a past president of the HDA, added, “I have no doubt Martha will fulfill this role with much enthusiasm and professionalism, and continue with the legacy our UTSD students are placing with the Hispanic Dental Association.” |
