Health Educators Fellowship Program Kicks Off with 22 Recruits

The 2014-15 Health Educators Fellowship Program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) is again underway, with 22 faculty members from five UTHealth schools participating.  Those from the School of Dentistry include Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences Department Chair Kalu Ogbureke, BDS, DMSc, JD; Lincoln Edwards, DDS, PhD; Shelley Patel, DDS; Rebeca Weisleder, DDS; and Clark Whitmeyer, DMD, JD.

Over the course of the 18-month program, participants will apply current education theory to educational practices; identify and reflect on their personal educational and teaching philosophies; collaborate with fellow participants to identify common areas of interest; and develop a project reflecting sound educational theory and practice that will benefit their personal career paths.  Participants from other UTHealth schools include:

The 18-month Health Educators Fellowship Program is designed to support a lifelong commitment to masterful teaching and is sponsored by the School of Dentistry, Medical School, School of Biomedical Informatics, School of Nursing and School of Public Health.
