The advanced Education Program in
General Dentistry (AEGD) is a 12 month continuing education
experience in the many phases of advanced general dentistry.
It is based in The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston
and interfaces with a number of other dental specialties.
At present the program enrolls 5
residents each year. Rotations are limited to a community
clinic on a periodic basis. Basically, specialists and attending
faculty rotate to the residents in an 11-chair clinic well
equipped with current instruments and supplies and about to
be enhanced with digital radiography and electronic record
keeping. Every effort is made to simulate general
private practice experiences which spans advanced
oral surgery to practice management with appropriate referrals
where needed. A true interdisciplinary protocol for implant
therapy is also practiced with the AEGD resident as the primary
clinician providing 90-100% of the therapy.
The program accepts applications from the Postodoctoral Application Support Service (PASS) and participates in the National Matching Service Program. Complete information about the program and making application can be found at Admissions/Applications. |
