Dr. Lynn Davis graduated from UTHSC Dental Branch in 1975. After graduation he taught for 3 years as a full-time clinical instructor with the department of General Dentistry. He opened his general dentistry practice for the next 8 years in his hometown of League City, Texas. In 1986, he returned to the UT Dental Branch to complete a 2 year orthodontic residency program. In 1999, Dr. Lynn Davis joined the Department of Orthodontics as an assistant clinical professor.

Dr. Davis brings to the program the Herbst appliance which he has been using in this practice since 1992. He has treated more 1200 Herbst cases in his private practice and with the Orthodontic residents. In 2002, he presented to the Southwestern Association of Orthodontists in Atlanta a 2-day presentation on the Herbst with notable orthodontists: Dr. Terry Dishinger (Oregon), Dr. Bob Smith (Florida) and Dr. Mike Rogers (Georgia). In December 2007, Dr. Davis became an American Board of Orthodontics member. His membership with professional associations include; ADA, TDA, AAO, ABO. He is a board member of the Texas Orthodontic Foundation. He became one the first AAOF regents within the first year.
