Bio Introduction

Increase Collaboration within your Profession

Let people know what you are doing by creating a personal Bio Web page by using the following Web template.

Why should I create a Bio Web page, I already have a CV?

Creating a Bio Web page about yourself will communicate to the world who you are and what you do as a profession. It will tell fellow professionals world wide about the type of research you do and the type of projects you like to work on. This Web page will be found by search engines used on the Internet.

What is the difference between a CV and a Bio Web page?

Your CV is the official academic resume on file with Dental Branch and its contents are used for generating reports to internal and external auditing groups or agencies. It is used to convey all your academic activity since entering your profession to currrent date. The CV is not searchable because it is posted on the Web as a PDF document.

Your Bio Web page is a searchable document because it is created as an HTML page. The Bio Web page is an abbreviated version of your CV. It contains 5 elements.

  1. First, a current photo
  2. Contact Information
  3. Short narritive of Job Description
  4. Education
  5. Professional Activity Listing - has the latest 5 activities in the following areas: published articles, research, personal projects, and professional work groups or organizations.

It also includes a list of keywords that you want to be associated with. These could be professional organizations you are affiliated with, professional interests, work group names, area of specialization and the like.

The following format will be used for all Bio Web pages.
