* Required for new residents, continuing predoctoral dental and dental hygiene students. Those clinical personnel who satisfy update requirement by viewing the online presentations must also take the quiz. Questions cover Infection Control, Quality Assurance, Patient Privacy & HIPAA/Medical Emergencies. A score of 80 is considered passing. Make-up for those unsuccessful at first attempt will be offered (see schedule).

NOTES:

1 New faculty, staff, postdoctoral residents, and preceptors who have not completed an accepted BLS course within six months of start date must take BLS course at orientation.

2 New faculty, staff, postdoctoral residents, and preceptors who have completed BLS course within six months of start date are required to do a one-hour medical emergency lab only.

3 New faculty, staff, postdoctoral residents, and preceptors are required to attend a "Clinic Orientation" session in place of a Patient Care/Clinical Education updates.

4 Current clinical staff must take BLS every year; faculty and postdoctoral residents, fellows, and preceptors every two years.
