The DB’s new administrative team
      Catherine M. Flaitz, DDS, MS, dean of the UT Dental Branch, announced at the DB Town Hall meeting the administrative changes at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston for efficiency and effectiveness in reaching the school’s goals. The changes are as follows:

Longtime professors bid farewell
    The UT Dental Branch and Medical School at Houston teamed up Monday to honor the retirement of Max O. Hutchins, Ph.D., and William T. Butler, Ph.D, Monday, Aug. 30. Dr. Hutchins, of the Integrated Biology and Pharmacology Department at the Medical School, will retire Tuesday after 40 years of service. Dr. William Butler retired in December from 17 years of full time professorship at the Dental Branch.
    Also, farewell to two other DB professors, Donald P. Butler, D.D.S. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and H. Keith Herrin, D.D.S. of Dental Public Health and director of Special Care Clinic, who are retiring after many years of dedicated teaching.
    Best wishes to Gerald J. Pinero, Ph.D. of Pathology at the Medical School and of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dental Branch as he retires this month.
