The School of Dental Hygiene will host Information Sessions each semester for potential applicants. Sessions are currently scheduled on May 7, 2008 and August 6, 2008.  All sessions begin at 4 p.m. in room 132 at the University of Texas Dental Branch.  Sessions end at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tours of the Dental Branch will be provided following each session. The Dental Branch is located at 6516 M.D. Anderson Blvd. at the corner of Moursund St. 

 

Introduction 

The School of Dental Hygiene is housed within The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston within the Texas Medical Center, a comprehensive medical complex occupying 675 acres and 14 patient care facilities. The Dental Branch is a 6-floor building located at 6516 M.D. Anderson Blvd.  Undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate programs in dentistry, as well as the program in dental hygiene are offered.

The School of Dental Hygiene has maintained a strong clinical and academic history since the admission of its first class in 1955.  It is a fully accredited two-year program, which leads to either a certificate in dental hygiene or a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Approximately 40 students are admitted to the School of Dental Hygiene each fall semester.
