Dr. Sridhar Eswaran is currently an assistant professor in The Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at The University of Texas HSC-Houston, School of Dentistry. Dr. Eswaran received his dental degree in 2001. Upon completion of his dental degree he sought more advanced research training in the field of Oral Biology at Stony Brook University, New York, where he studied the link between gum and heart disease. After completing his master's degree from New York he proceeded to his speciality training in periodontics and implant dentistry at The University of Texas where he received his specialty certificate in periodontics and degree in Master of Dental Science (MSD).
Dr. Eswawran is board-certified periodontist and a Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology. He specializes in the treatment of gum disease and implant dentistry. He is actively involved in clinical and education research in periodontics and implant dentistry. His area of interest is in bone regeneration using growth factors and host modulation. His research work has been presented in various national as well as international conferences. He is also the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Fellowship to the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning in the Health Profession.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), and American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
