The Dental Hygiene Program is housed within The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston at 7500 Cambridge St in the Texas Medical Center, a comprehensive medical complex with 48 member institutions. The School of Dentistry offers undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate programs in dentistry, as well as a baccalaureate program in dental hygiene. The University of Texas School of Dentistry's Dental Hygiene Program is the only dental hygiene program in the Houston area offering a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.

We aspire to be the model dental hygiene program for the 21st century, dedicated to advancing the health of the people of Texas, the nation and our global community by educating compassionate healthcare professionals and innovative scientists, and by discovering and translating advances in the social and biomedical sciences to treat, cure and prevent disease now and in the future.
The primary focus of the School of Dentistry is the education of dental health professionals of the highest caliber. In pursuit of excellence, the School of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene Program will focus on students and patients while teaching the basic and clinical sciences along with professional and ethical standards in an environment of collegiality, respect for diversity, and attention to the university's foundation principles.
The goals of the dental hygiene program are to:

· Graduate students qualified to practice comprehensive patient care
· Educate students to provide patient care according to QA/RM
· Provide service learning and community experiences
