Oral Health and HIV Symposium

Friday, June 20, 2014 - 9:00am - 4:00pm


This continuing education course is designed to give dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants the most current information on oral health, oral care and HIV. Course content will be directed at practitioners anticipating care and treatment of HIV patients. Presenters include Mark Nichols, DDS, vice president of clinical affairs at Bering Omega Community Services, and adjunct professor at UT School of Dentistry at Houston; and Shital Patel, MD, assistant professor in internal medicine and infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Patel is also the medical director for the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center, and serves as an infectious disease medical practitioner at Harris Health System, Thomas Street Health Center.
