2005 - 2006 Clinical Affairs Committee

Purpose as stated in the UTDB Bylaws

The purpose of this committee, which shall be charged by the Senate, shall be to evaluate and recommend procedures to insure proper clinical instruction and administration of comprehensive patient care. The Committee shall also make recommendations to maintain and improve the quality of the clinical care related to the prevention and control of infection and biohazards in the Dental Branch, and to monitor compliance with these policies and procedures. Additionally, Quality Assurance-Quality, which is incorporated into the Clinical Affairs Committee, also evaluates and recommends policies to guarantee the Dental Branch is in compliance with accreditation standards in all clinical areas. This committee will report to the dean and the senate.

Committee Charge

• Evaluate and recommend procedures to ensure optimal clinic instruction, administration, quality care and training in the Dental Branch and extramural clinics
• Ensure the coordination of basic science, preclinical and clinical instruction
