Purpose as stated in the UTDB Bylaws

The purpose of this committee, which shall be charged by the Senate, shall be to enhance development of Dental Branch faculty by identifying and/or establishing development opportunities. It shall also solicit, review and nominate faculty for Faculty Development Leave. The Committee will coordinate and conduct the evaluation of the educational programs offered at the Dental Branch and the effectiveness of the faculty and administration. This Committee shall report to the Dean and the Senate. The Committee shall also evaluate faculty nominees for Faculty Awards and make recommendations to the Dean.

Committee Charge

• Evaluate faculty proposals for development leave and forward recommendations to the Dean.
• Assist in identifying faculty development opportunities and developing faculty training programs.
• Assist in identifying and implementing faculty development courses.
