2007 - 2008 Research Committee

Purpose as stated in the UTDB Bylaws

The purpose of this committee, which shall be charged by the Senate and reports to the Dean, shall be to encourage and facilitate research at the Dental Branch.

Committee Charge

• provide counsel to the Associate Dean for Research on sustaining and enhancing the research infrastructure at the Dental Branch
• foster basic, clinical, and educational research by faculty, staff, and students
• solicit and assist in evaluating applications for pilot project funding
• assist in evaluating proposals for student research fellowships
• make recommendations to the Associate Dean for Research for senior dental student awards in recognition of outstanding efforts in research
• assist in the planning and execution of formal research-related activities at the Dental Branch

Committee Structure

• The Ex Officio Members are the Director of the Training Grant, Associate Dean for Educational Research and Professional Development, Associate Dean for Research and a Research Scientist.
• The Student Members are one representative from the 4th Year Dental class and one representative from the 3rd Year, Dental class.
