Introduction
OVID Online Tutorial

This tutorial will guide you through the OVID web interface and the various databases provided by the Texas Health Science Libraries Consortium (THSLC). The web interface to databases allows access from a central point using familiar search tools and strategies. This makes it easier to locate the desired information and gives you access to very powerful searching tools.

The Medline Database is produced by the National Library of Medicine. The database is divided into several sections by year.

It includes
:

Citations to Journal Articles

Author Abstracts

Full-text Journal Articles

The following screens will help you become familiar with the various navigation and search tools built into the OVID interface.

OVID Technologies is the creator of the web interface used to search the Medline database. OVID also provides the search interface for many other databases offered by the library consortium.

Access to OVID Medline is through the UT Dental Branch website under: Library and Technology Support, then Databases/Medline. Select the link for OVID Medline Database Collection or the specific Medline database you wish to search.
