- Dr. Raouf Hanna was invited to present lecture, "Surgical and Restorative Treatment Planning of Dental Implants; from Simple Cases to Complex Cases" at the 6th International Implantology Conference in Cairo Egypt on April 5, 2005.

- Paula N. O’Neill, Ed.D., professor of diagnostic sciences and associate dean for educational research and professional development, Dental Branch (DB), was invited to give two keynote presentations, “Setting the Stage for Diversity and Cultural Competency” and “The Importance of Faculty Development,” in January at the University of Louisville (Ky.) School of Dentistry. She was also an invited speaker in November at the American Academy of Periodontology’s 90th Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla., where she presented “Mentoring Residents About Career Choices in Academics.”

- Dr. Arthur Jeske was the keynote speaker at the Texas Section, American College of Dentists’ annual meeting on Februrary 18, 2005. The title of his presentation was, “Vioxx—A Lesson in the Ethics of Evidence-Based Dentistry?”.
- Dr. Arthur Jeske presented a 6-hour c.e. course on Dental Pharmacology at the Star of South Dental Meeting (Greater Houston Dental Society), February 17, 2005, in Houston, Texas
