XIII. Student Advising

There are opportunities to provide general guidance for Dental Branch students by referring them to appropriate sources of specialized assistance for tutoring, personal counseling, etc. This is a one-on-one relationship in which the faculty has the opportunity to mentor students assigned to him/her. This activity is directed by the Office of Student Affairs.

XIV. Establishing Professional Relationships and Networks

Faculty are advised to seek out professional relationships and networks to assist them in their academic endeavors. Some of those networks include seeking out faculty who are already involved in teaching courses in which you can contribute. Additionally, participate in professional development activities to enhance your teaching and research expertise. Participate as an active member of committees of the Dental Branch and the Health Science Center. It is also appropriate to extend that participation to the national and international level. Participation in the governance of the school is also valued as is community service.
