Scholarships
The Dental
Branch is able to offer a limited number of competitive academic
scholarships to the entering class of DDS degree candidates. These scholarships are made
possible through the generous donations of the UTDB Alumni Association,
The Mu Mu Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society
and the Greater Houston Dental Society via the Daniel C. Kamas
Memorial Fund.
Scholarships awarded at the direction of the sponsors are primarily competitive
academic scholarships, designated primarily for those demonstrating superior academic
performance. Additional criteria for the scholarship consideration
include all those factors utilized by the Admissions Committee in
their selection process. In addition, the Daniel C. Kamas Scholarship
requires the designation of one male and one female recipient per
year.
All applicants to the entering class are considered.
The awarding
of these scholarships is determined by the scholarship sub-committee
of the Dental Admissions committee, contingent upon approval by the
Admissions committee and the Dean. Awarding of these scholarships
on an annual basis is dependent upon funding by the supporting organizations.
